Food is obviously one of the highlights of Goa.
Beach Shacks Near Majestic Palm
The food in some of the beach shacks are fantastic. The ones that we definitely recommend are:
- Joecons Beach Shack
- Sun & Moon
- Hawaii (great for drinks)
- Goi’s
- Jammy’s
These are great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are happy for you to while the day away there, and they are also great spots to have a drink at sundown.
Restaurants:
Joecons Garden Restaurant – great food and very relaxed. Ask for Khan, Kumar or Bobby in the restaurant and mention our names. NB – they will also provide room service to the villa.
Johncy Bar & Restaurant – on the beach in Benaulim.
Martin’s Corner – great food, very famous, live music.
Fisherman’s Wharf – about a 25 minute drive away in Varca. Some nice shops en route. Lovely restaurant on the river bank. Live music and a small children’s play area.
Pentagon – great atmosphere with live music and a garden area.

Cavatina – a 5 minute walk from Majestic Palms. Traditional Goan and some European food (pasta etc). Fully air-conditioned.
In Colva, Jamie’s and Portofina are also very good.
Five Star Hotels
You can also visit some of the neighbouring 5 star hotels if you fancy a smarter night out. The following are relatively close by:
Taj Exotica – The Lobster Shack is in the gardens by the beach.

Note – when you book a taxi for an evening out, it is easier to book a return trip. The taxi driver will wait for you for 2 hours.
